Re: 1911 22lr?

Advantage Arms has 3 different lengths of kits. I have a FS one that use on my Les Baer Tactical. Wish I had sprung for the threaded barrel. Mine has worked flawlessly with good ammo. Likes CCI minimags.

Re: 1911 22lr?

I have a Sig 1911-22. It's the same as a GSG 1911-22, except for the price.

As long as I keep it relatively clean and lubed, it runs fine with whatever cheap ammo I have on hand.

If you go the Sig/GSG route, make sure you put the barrel fixing pin back in properly, or it will fall out. Then it takes about 6 weeks to get a new one.

Re: 1911 22lr?

I just bit the bullet and bought a used TacSol conversion. More expensive than many others, but so far all I've run through it is bulk pack and it hasn't jammed yet. Much more reliable than the Kimber unit I borrowed before.

Re: 1911 22lr?

I just picked up Brownings 1911-22. I always bring my 1911s to the range and my girlfriend kinda felt left out when she came along. This browning is scaled down(I think) to 7/8 size of a full size 1911 so it's kinda small for me but it's fun to shoot. I mainly got it for my girlfriend (she is 4'10" so this thing fits her perfectly). I only got to put around 150 through it before I ran out of time (range was closing for the evening). The browning breaks down like a regular 1911 unlike all the other newer dedicated 1911 22 platforms.

Re: 1911 22lr?

The ATI/GSG 1911/22lr are fine little guns. We have sold a bunch, no complaints from any of our customers. It is a much closer relative to a real 1911.
The Chiappa on the other hand, I don't think is in the same ball park...basically you get exactly what you pay for.

Spend a lot more money and get an early Colt Ace, not the WWII, $4000 one, but the one made in the last thirty years or so. A slide not mated to a frame will not bode well for either. As its fired, the fram will mate to the slide and vice versa. Which slide shall it mate to? Unless CNC and specs are amazingly the same, I don't like conversions for 1911's.
High Standard Victor, Supermatic, Citation, etc.
