I want to try to build up a 1911 frame for my Marvel Unit 1. Can any one suggest some reading or videos to watch to get a better understanding of a 1911.

I started with Vol 1 and found that it was just the basic design, function, specs kind of information.

Vol. 2 is a how-to on building your own.

Do you have any experience with the 1911 design? I did exactly what you want to do and it turned out great. But I'm a 1911 junkie and am pretty comfortable working on them.

If you want to learn, you might hang out over on 1911forum.com. There's a lot of good info there.
