Suppressors 1911 Light Rail

Re: 1911 Light Rail

I put a dawson on a springer i have and its a good setup. The only thing I would suggest is using some kind of epoxy or maybe black loctite. If you can find someone to weld it that might be better yet. I guess the question is are you willing to perminitly alter your gun or not. That being said the capian ones look good to if you want to add somthing other than a surefire.

Re: 1911 Light Rail

Dawson makes a great rail.

If you don't want to fool with Dawson's adapter (IE, you have one X200 for multiple guns) Novak's add on 1913 rail is made to mimic the dimensions of Caspian Recon frames (that most manufactureres use) for holster/light compatibility.

Re: 1911 Light Rail

ive been thinking of doing the same to my Springfield, but havnt decided if the tick rail is better. I didnt know one could be installed on the gun..how much does something like that run>?

Re: 1911 Light Rail

Should be under $100 parts included.

Dawson sometimes runs specials for installation, and offers a great military/le price if you qualify.

Novak is the same as above, and both offer good turn around times. Novak-railed GI style 1911s fit holsters for:

Caspian Recon frames
Wilson CQB/R
Nighthawk railed guns
RRA guns

etc, etc. Everyone using Caspian frames or a similar one. It will fit most Springfield Operator holsters as well so you have a lot of options.

Dawson rail equipped guns fit a number of standard 1911 holsters to include blade-tech and Heinie/Alessi DOJ holsters. There is a lot of info on the 10-8 forums concerning Dawson rail compatibility.

I would recommend one of these two, as the other options out there will not be holster compatible except Surefire. With Surefire's add-on, you are limited to Safariland's tactical holsters.
