1911 thigh holster.

Re: 1911 thigh holster.

I've already got several BDS products and they're top notch. I didn't even think of them for this one. Thanks for the reminder.

I got a side armor light holster and bolted onto a blackhawk leg kit. I know its not nylon, but it is sturdy though.

Re: 1911 thigh holster.

Eagle, Tactical Tailor, and London Bridge all have excellent products when looking for a nylon holster. You really can't go wrong with any of those. I've never used the BDS but have used the others I mentioned.

If you're looking for better retention but faster draw, go kydex with either a Safariland or Blackhawk Serpa. They have a larger profile and weight, but if you're going to be using it around potential bad guys, the retention features are really what you'll need.

Re: 1911 thigh holster.

Why nylon, they are really hard to use if you have to actually draw and reholster multiple times.

Consider the Safariland 6000 series.... heavy and big... yes.

But much more functional.

I've been actually USING Safariland holsters for seven years and a Safariland drop holster for four.

I don't like them and want to try something different.

+1 for Bladetech! I found my nylon thigh holsters to get loose in time (affecting draw smoothness/speed), and retain moisture, causing rust if you are not careful.
