I couldn't resist any longer and I too question the sanity of experimenting on this rig, but I must say...I'm in the wrong line of work

Still got a few details to finish up but I'm pretty much there.

For painting over a very nice and expensive rifle I'd say you did very well. I could never do something like that myself over such an expensive gun. Yeah call me a pussy I know.

X2, what a great looking rifle!

I'm leaving the barrel alone for now. Hard to see in the pics but it actually has a green tint from the factory. Maybe before I re-barrel it I'll play with the idea.

Nice job by the way. What part of NE Florida do you live in, im in the panhandle.

Baking just cures it faster and makes it less prone to scratching initially when the paint is still soft. Not sure if it does anything long-term. I'm in Jax.

This thing was bad ass before, now it just looks AMAZING. I can't wait to see it in person with this paint on the 30th. This will be the only time in our life time that I will admit you have more balls than I.

Surely you don't think this will be your only reminder?

I requested info for the 30th match but haven't heard back. After poking around a bit there may be caliber restrictions so I'm not sure I can use this. I may have to use the SASS or one of your bolt guns.

Quite simple...I wanted to make sure that I'd retain the ability to easily return it to original condition if I didn't like it. That wouldn't have been an option with Cerakote or other finishes. It's not a safe queen and as such will need to be re-barreled in another year. When I tear it down for that I'll likely explore something more permanent. The pics really don't do it justice...it came out extroardinarily well for a piss can job. You'd be hard pressed to tell it wasn't done with a gun.

Hmmm...camoflaged truck? Now you got me thinking

Well I'm far from rich but I'm not starving. It's just while all the sheeple are investing in 401K's and IRA's I prefer to invest in precious metal

I'm sure it will scratch...krylon stays soft for awhile. Scratches give it character though.
