Photos 1st try making a Ghillie

Re: 1st try making a Ghillie

Nice job!!

But to break it in you do need to pee in it while the walkers/observers are trying to find you. Can't call a potty break.

Just makin' sure you know how it's broken in is all!!

Thanks guys! Shay, most of the garnish that's visible in the pic is veg. Not sure if that's how it should be done though.

Re: 1st try making a Ghillie

Its better to have more veg than jute/burlap. Do you have more pics of the suit, I really like it.

Sorry, but I don't have any good pictures from far away. Thanks for the feedback though. There's definitely some room for improvement.

Even without seeing the "working" side, to me it looks as though you have used too much material. I've made quite a few over the past 30 years and most soldiers (or anyone) making their first couple use to much material and learn as they progress.

Re: 1st try making a Ghillie

From the picture you did an excellent job. Just be sure not to over veg it or you will stand out like a sore dick at a porno convention. It's all about balance. Now you have to get out and play in the mud with it then hose it down and repeat. It will become more comfortable as it breaks in. Before school I stalked every available minute so that I could work out the kinks and customize it for every situation. I also found that my skids needed to be adjusted and was able to do so before school. Also, very important is ventilation in the back. I assume that you probably have alredy done this. Thumb loops and boot loops are also essential for change of direction. Once again great job and good luck stalking.

mud puddle, dirt, sand, mud puddle, dirt, sand, have your buddy drag you through it by your shoulders, on your belly on your back... anyone going to break out the orange spray paint?
