Rifle Scopes $200 shotgun scope advice!

My dad is looking for a new 12 gauge bolt deer gun scope! He has had two WalMart special bushells fail and asked me for some advice. He said he didn't want to spend much more than $200.
My immediate response was a Redfield but I also see there is a Vortex Viper 2-7 on sale through swfa. But to be completely honest am not entirely sure these would last any longer than the bushnells that didn't hold up to the 12 gauge recoil.
Any advice would be great!

Look here. My choice would be the bottom scope. A little more than $200 but you won't be replacing it anytime soon.

Take a look at the Nikon Slug Hunter scopes. They have a 2-7 with a BDC reticle for just about $200. The Slug Hunter was designed for that purpose and the BDC reticle paired with Nikon Spot On technology will keep you dead on target. We put about 250 shells through a TC Slug Gun in one day at a shoot and the Slug Hunter worked flawlessly.

That Viper is a hellofa scope for what SWFA is selling it for. Only Nikon I use now is their rangefinder.
