A few weeks ago someone asked about the accuracy of the SCAR compared to other rifles in the same class. So I took my Noveske SPR and SCAR 16S out for a little head to head test.
Both rifles were shot with SS 3-9, Black Hills remanufactured 77 gr match, fed through Tango Down 20rd mag. The rifles were shot on the same day from the prone off an Atlas bipod. I fired (3) five round groups at a 1 moa dot at 100 yards.
Here are the rifles...
The SPR has a trigger that I think is just a little too light. A few have commented about the SCAR having a terrible trigger. I like it, it tends to be as close to a GI standard trigger.
My short test is not the end all of either of these weapons accuracy capabilities but I plan on looking a little closer at both of them in the future. I did not measure any of the groups but I liked the way the SCAR shot vs the Noveske. Though I did experience 2 malfunctions with the SCAR, one fail to feed and one double feed. I believe both can be chocked up to lack of lube and very dirty.
Here are the groups, Noveske on the left and the SCAR on the right.
