We hit the road a little late this morning due to rain, hoping in was still dry in our antelope are. As luck would have it, this deer ran out in front of us. I have a big grill guard, but of course he had to do the cartwheel down the side. Looks like I need a new left rear door now.
Made it to the antelope area and it was high and dry. Found this buck sleeping around 10:00. Closed the distance to 490 yards. Dialed in the scope, pressed the trigger, down he went. He was angled a little, bullet hit lung on one side and through the liver on it's way out. Kids had a blast and thats what matters the most. He is about 15" tall, but pretty thin and bad cutters. Shot him with a 308 XCR Tactical, 168 Amax.
