2009 Dodge Ram Secrets???

Hey all, I've done a little searching around haven't come up with too many but Im looking for any chips, programers or engine add ons for my 2009 Ram 1500 4.7. I know its not a "Green" mobile and thats not what I got it for but it couldnt hurt to have a tuner for towing and going to and from work. Ive just got a drop in K&N drop in box filter and a low profile Truxedo, I get about 20 mpg to and from work and I only drive with half a tank when possible, anyone else's tips or even picks are appreciated, TNX

If you are truly getting 20mpg that is damn good! My 2009 ram diesel with all the emisions crap taken off and with 5in. exhaust and a smarty programer driving like an old lady on the highway I get 20MPG.

I only crack 20 MPG on long highway treks. Mine's a 2008, same engine, 2 wheel drive.

I haven't added anything to it beside a Leer 800 toneau topper!

Sure wouldn't mind seeing any non warranty voiding add ons that would boost performance or gas mileage.

Just google programmers, mor than you care to read about...the Dodge diesel forum is also a good site,,,I think it has a place for gas burners..

I had a 2006 ram with the 4.7 it got 10 mpg was pretty much gutless when it came to hauling anything or pulling a little trailer. Are the new ones any better?

I've got an 02 with the 4.7. I put a set of BF Goodrich tires on it and it ain't getting better than 14MPG no matter what I do. It's a bit of a dog but it's been a fairly trouble free truck so I really don't complain about it. My next truck will have a big boy motor though.

Nice truck!! I have an 09 TRX 4x4 with 5.7 Hemi now, and am about to upgrade to the K&N cold air induction. I bought it, just need to install it. There is also a Diablo programmer that I am wanting to get. Once you reprogram the computer, you have to reset it to original factory setting for any warranty or repair work at the dealership. there are several setting you can do for improved gas mileage, and choose which fuel you want to run- 87, 89, or 93 octane. My last truck was an 04 with a 4.7, and it was great. I added a simple K&N air filter, and exhaust, but I didn't see hardly any improvent with the exaust. There is a HUGE powder difference between the 4.7 and 5.7.

I had an 03 5.9 HO Cummings. It was 4 door, and 4 wheel drive. With nothing other than a K&N filter I could hit 25 MPG on the highway at 70 MPH. I never should have gotten rid of it.

Its a 1975 Volvo C303, got it online, it gets about 15mpg though and only about 45mph lol but goes anywhere

Obviously a good exhaust system is going to benefit you in mileage, but it may never pay for itself.

Keep in mind that your engine is very small for a fullsize truck already.

Look at a Diablosport tuner. It has multiple modes and allows you to adjust shift points, compensate for fuel grade, set thresholds for tire pressure monitoring, etc.

Truly a nice unit and improves the driveability, the power, and the fuel economy of a vehicle.

any 5.7 guys use the "hemi under glass" mod from summit ? If so was it worth it ?
