LOL, the movie was crap because the whole theory is crap. I mean if you just want a reason to load up on ammo then heck knock yourself out. you can never have to much. but the whole theory is a joke. They got everyone flipping out because some old mayan calendar ends in 2012. Well crap if you was going to make a calendar today, would you just keep making it all the way to the year 12,438, heck no you'd get sick of writing and let someone take over at another time. Not to mention I don't think we will make it till 12,438 so I don't feel it necessary to continue the calendar any farther than that anyway. Well I'm sure that was their assumption back then too. Now all the sudden cuz they ended their calendar that means the world is coming to an end. What a joke! this is y2k all over again. And what surprises me is that so many people actually believe it

LOL, good plan but you better have one cuz either way you can't lose. if you buy it and the world goes ca put then you didn't need the money anyway. but if you don't have one, you gonna hear it.

The sun has been crossing through the galactic plane since the 1980's it will be through it in 2017.

Then we can prepare for the meteor the Russians are nudging toward an impact with earth in 2028.

I purchased one of the abandoned missle silos here in N. Idaho and I have stocked it with provisions, guns, & ammo. Me and my harem of big women are going underground, to party, do the group sex thing, and repopulate North America.

My ass is grass if the apocalypse comes for real. There are just so many outside reources my continued existence depends upon that contemplating their absence borders upon the ludicrous.

Better I provide for my descendants. I can't feed or house them and I won't try. I can provide some basic information resources and try to instill values of decency and courage. Beyond that, I think it's a little presumptuous of me to think I can do a better job of making preparations for them than they can on their own.

I know that's true of me, and of most everyone. Most people who believe otherwise are simply fooling themselves.

Life will revert to the Hobbesian description of "brutual, nasty and short" for all. For the vast majority of the population, it's simply a case of how long they will last.

But everyone needs something to do when they get up in the morning, and I suppose contemplating the apocalypse is no worse than many ways to waste time.

As for me, I'm going to go for my daily bicycle ride, have a beer with lunch, and take a nap.

I am always prepared for volcano's that blow up around here, earthquakes and solar extreme power outages....and we've had all 3...

2 weeks food, got a stream nearby so I can get water and purify, got gas for the stove..

Shotgun rounds to keep the looters out, good to go.

My goal is a piece of property large enough to grow a farm to support ourselves, game nearby - and a few weapons to defend ourselves with.

Got all that already - if you can't survive on that, you won't make it.

Need to be able to survive until the crops come in. With that said, I'll choose to live off the bullies and strong arms. Yeah, open season on dirt bags, strength through superior marksmanship and tactics. It will be about the gas, food, and ammo, and currency will be bourbon and other libatious items.

Actually that would be the Aztecs. The Mayans were pretty much done around 800 AD due to an 80 year drought. What was left of them were Tabascans who Hernan Cortez encountered in 1519 on his way to conquering Tinochtitlan (Aztec captol, in present day Mexico City)
