2013 thunder valley precision shoot dates

Here are a few pics from today's intimidator match at TVP. We experienced some rain and fog which made things challenging (and ruined the score sheet). Great job today to the few brave shooters who showed up. Mike got the high score today with a 114. Good shootin' Mike!

We had some extra time so we shot the third stage of the Headhunter so some of these pictures are from that stage.

Don't forget next Saturday is a Head Hunter and Sunday is an Open Range Day. Not too many summer days left to shoot so plan to come out.

Yeah - kind of ruined the 1040 shot on stage 3. I think I was on 5X to even be able to see a hint of the target. Seeing misses was impossible even through the spotting scope. The visibility was pretty challenging at times. You also left out that John cleaned stage 3 of the head hunter - pretty impressive as target 2 was hard to find.

The cookies were awesome and appreciated Margret.

Here is the score sheet from today's Head Hunter match at TVP. Congrats to the Doug, Walt and Margaret who were the top scorers today.

It was a beautiful day with just enough wind to make it challenging. Great job to all of the new shooters who came out and gave the Head Hunter their best shot.

Don't forget there is an open range day tomorrow for those of you who weren't able to make it out today.

Thanks to John and Margaret! You guys are great for running the show and making it happen. Great weather and great people. Been too long since I've gotten to tvp.

Good shooting everyone!!!!

thanks for the cookies and water Margaret!

What is the headcount looking like for the short course/headhunter this sat the 31? I finally got the new rifle half figured out, want to bring it down and break it in thunder valley style. Ill have two more shooters with me for sure.

Small turnout today at TVP but we had the match anyway and it was a lot of fun. Lots of sunshine and some challenging winds as always but a good day to shoot. Margaret had an excellent day. She nearly cleaned the course- only 25 points from cleaning the Intimidator. She cleaned stage 1 and 4 which is not an easy task as you know if you have shot the course.

Here the score sheet and a few pictures of Bill and Ben shooting as a team.

Don't forget there is another Intimidator match tomorrow. 10:00 am start as usual. Come on guys don't let Margaret show you up lol.

Just an FYI: for those of you who have been asking Tom said that we will shoot year round including October but that it is difficult to plan too far in advance due to his schedule and hunting season so keep your eye out for announcements on the Hide and the TVP Facebook page for upcoming match details.

There were 12 Sunday at TVP shooting is varying wind and light conditions. The haze was really bad on stage 1 making targets 3 & 4 really difficult to see. The wind was changing all day too - it was very interesting. Here's the score sheet for those who are interested.

BTW, congrats Margret - nice shooting. Would have liked to been there and seen that.

What happened to the TVP Facebook page? It magically disappeared and I haven't been able to find it...

I don't know first hand but I do know Fakebook has been actively shutting down gun related facebook pages 1 by 1 since the push for gun control swept the country. I know many, many, many gun related sights had their accounts shut down in the last 6 months without any warning . FB no longer wants anything to do with guns it seems. Im guessing the TVP FB page was a casualty of the political bs going arouond FB?

Here is the score sheet from today's Headhunter match at TVP. Where were all of you? Only 5 shooters took advantage of this great weather and awesome course of fire today. You are going to be sad when its winter and you missed out on days like this.

The conditions were very tricky with big gusts and lots of switching winds which made it difficult to hit those small targets on the first try.

Top scorers were Margaret and John who tied with 12 first round hits.

Don't forget there is an Intimidator tomorrow so you can still get out and get some shootin' in this weekend.

We finished up early so we got to shoot the third stage of the Intimidator as a bonus.

Those look like some great scores. 117, 114, 107, 102 !!!

I like to see those first round hits on that 1165!

Looks like Ryan cleared stage two, and Josh cleared stage four, good shooting!

It was just me and another guy. First Headhunter for him so no score sheet. No cookies either!
The wind seemed faster than usual and I didn't shoot very well.

That sucks, it's always more fun when there is a good turnout.

My partner and I will be there Saturday for the last intimidator on the schedule despite it being the first day of bow season!

We e-mailed Tom today and he said that the match is defiantly a go and he would be out hunting till 9am. So we might not want to throw any lead downrange till he shows himself being as I'm not sure where he will be hunting.

Merrit: bring that new piece of equipment out and show us what she will do! :)

BobM2: we will have cookies for you and will make sure there will be a score sheet and spotting scope!

Congratulations to a few of our shooters who went down to the GAP grind and showed them how it's done! Dave P, Dave O, Ryan B, and Mike. any others I forgot?

Lets get a good turnout and post up some high score for what possibly could be the last intimidator for awhile.

Here is the scoresheet from today's Intimidator Match. It was a beautiful day on the hills at TVP. Thanks to Tom for the precision mowing and painting. The winds were anywhere from 0 to 8 or 9 mph and switched swiftly and often.

The top scorer was Jeff with a 129 followed closely by Margaret and Frank who got 122. Margaret and I were the top scoring team for the day.
