Shooters were trying to break the Worlds Longest Shot record, which currently stands at 2011 yards.

I must be missing a critical detail, longest shot under what circumstances? surely there have been shots longer than 2011 yards.

The official World Record for the Longest Shot. Many unverifiable backyard claims have been made over the years. But just like you cannot jump in the swimming pool in your back yard with a stop watch and set a new world record in the 50 meter backstroke, same rules apply for shooting. The Official World Record was set by going 3 for 3 from a cold bore, with no prior practice. The first Official World Record was set at 1500 yards, then it was broken at 2011 yards.

I will get the new PDF posted up in this forum once I square it away for release.

Thanks for posting the Kestrel log Doc , very interesting . I see the DA swing is around 1350 feet
from min to max . Must have been difficult spotting misses in that green grass too .
