I wish I knew what was going to happen in the next few months. There are tons of hunts going for pennies on the dollars.

I think if a guy had a way to get to Africa he could have a 21 day Tanzania safari for $15,000.

I am sitting on some cash hoping to get a cancellation mt goat or moose hunt. I have seen some prices drop, but nothing like I need them to be.

I'm not interested in going to Africa for a safari hunt, but I am planning on chasing some whitetail in the midwest and some doe antelope in Wyoming with a coworker. We were discussing this a few days ago and couldn't decide if DIY public land hunting would be up or down this year with more people out of work.

Two reasons, first off there are a lot of unemployed people right now who don't know where they are going to get money. If they had jobs and their business or field of work shut down they have nothing but time on their hands.

2nd, the grocery stores are empty. The bigger the city the more empty they are. We live 200 miles from major cities. I have noticed people driving to our small town to shop because the bigger cities near us are empty.

3rd, our local game and fish is already working on it. Our neighbor works for them, he said there is a lot being put into getting game wardens out and looking.

4th Oregon and other states have already posted that they are going to work on it. This is because people have idle time on their hands, no jobs, no money and the grocery stores have no food.

I hope I am wrong, but I have been wrong on under estimating every aspect of Covid-19, and I am getting tired of it.

Off season, meat poaching will probably not be hunters poaching, as most hunters respect wildlife and game laws.

There may be an increase in sustenance poaching if the virus and unemployment gets out of hand.

Trophy poaching will be business as usual, out of hand and low punishment for offenders. Trophy poaching has been rampant for decades, fish and game officials simply don't have the manpower to combat it.

Why would you shoot wild game when you could just pop a cow and have way more meat?

Trophy poachers really suck. Especially those using their poached animals only to advertise their social media status.

Because whoever owns that cow will be more dangerous than the Fish Cop. Especially in a real wild situation as outlined with some kind of apocalyptic scenario.

Most people don't live with in 50 miles of the cows out here and they are way easier to kill. Cattle rustling is still a thing and if some one can steal 100 head of cows under the cover of darkness. Shooting one aint hard at all hell most would just think predators got it.

Either way neither is going to happen. Not here any way
