Damn I hope you’re ok.Two weeks out and I injure my leg. Wife and Doc thought I had a DVT. Thankfully, I don’t. Not sure if it’s Phlebitis, compartment syndrome or a stress fracture. Having to lay off cardio for a couple weeks, which is going to suck this close but I’ve got enough prednisone on hand to get through the race. My current training regimen has my weight up, not down . This year is gonna be tough, running 12-13# heavier than last year.
Good news is, Tenet Two gun match tomorrow and Stennett 2 gun match next weekend. At least I am getting some reps in.
Everyone else’s training going ok?
I’ll be carrying a write in the rain notebook in a ziplock bag. I always have one on my kit anyway.Leg was ok with compression yesterday at the 2 gun match. I was able to “run” in the stages. Trying to keep up with some of the guys while running the timer was tough. It actually was shocking how fast some of these “kids” are. (Probably early 30s). I have to push hard to move with them and I look like I’m slow mo . My mind refuses to accept that I’m getting old but it’s obvious when I have to compete with someone 20-25 years younger.
Kit is fairly well sorted. I’m not happy with the chest rig harness but I’m going to have to just suck it up. Weapons zerod and ammo set. Still need to find a way to record a map and possible keep paper dry, but those are fairly easy.
Really looking forward to it this year. I’ll be out for a while on a Saturday making sure my daughter gets through her first R&G, and then Sunday for the race. Hope to put some faces with the names.

I pretty much have all my stuff sorted out. I might not wear the small backpack with the water bladder this year and just carry a water bottle but not sure on that just yet.
I should have taken off my pistol and put in in my backpack when I had to walk through the swamp last year.
I can take my holster off of my belt by just unclipping it with the Glock still in it if I need to. After going through the muck last year I had a ton of magazine problems.Careful if you run loaded. Not sure you can have the pistol out unless you’re instructed to do so by an RO. Will probably depend on who is at the stage. Or, just run unloaded.
I just let the Glock soak, it still shoots wet. I should probably submerge the ACRO tomorrow just to make sure it’s not gonna suck water as there is 0 % chance we won’t be in the water. I keep my rifle out of the water.
I may not move with it, but I’ll have a ham radio with me in the truck until at least after the match directors briefing.
I have to replace the speed laces on my boots this week. Solomon speed laces are about to bust, which is very strange. Would have sucked to break on course.
