Registration was today. 10K sold out in 1
1 minute. 5K took almost 2 minutes this year.

Who got in? Anyone here RO’ing?

LaVergne. Awesome that you got in.

I need to cut 10# of body weight before the match to offset ammo and I’m not running in plates this year. At least I’m thinking I’m not. When they changed Operator class they just add a level of suck that has no purpose . At least as far as the game is concerned.

I am on the wait list but we missed out on this one. I got dispatched for a cardiac arrest right before the tickets opened and my wife was at IDPA in a remote area with terrible signal. She started getting her ticket with 54 slots open but the data dropped.

Two weeks out and I injure my leg. Wife and Doc thought I had a DVT. Thankfully, I don’t. Not sure if it’s Phlebitis, compartment syndrome or a stress fracture. Having to lay off cardio for a couple weeks, which is going to suck this close but I’ve got enough prednisone on hand to get through the race. My current training regimen has my weight up, not down . This year is gonna be tough, running 12-13# heavier than last year.

Good news is, Tenet Two gun match tomorrow and Stennett 2 gun match next weekend. At least I am getting some reps in.

Everyone else’s training going ok?

Damn I hope you’re ok.
I recently got a new bolt gun so I’ve had my mind on other things but I should really get myself squared away for this match.
I do want to get a new Wright in the rain notebook after ready the thing that was posted the other day.

Good idea. I need to figure out a camera that will take this course as well.

Leg held up ok yesterday at the Tenet Multi-Gun yesterday. It’s not right or ready, but ai think it will be.

Leg was ok with compression yesterday at the 2 gun match. I was able to “run” in the stages. Trying to keep up with some of the guys while running the timer was tough. It actually was shocking how fast some of these “kids” are. (Probably early 30s). I have to push hard to move with them and I look like I’m slow mo :). My mind refuses to accept that I’m getting old but it’s obvious when I have to compete with someone 20-25 years younger.

Kit is fairly well sorted. I’m not happy with the chest rig harness but I’m going to have to just suck it up. Weapons zerod and ammo set. Still need to find a way to record a map and possible keep paper dry, but those are fairly easy.

Really looking forward to it this year. I’ll be out for a while on a Saturday making sure my daughter gets through her first R&G, and then Sunday for the race. Hope to put some faces with the names.

I’ll be carrying a write in the rain notebook in a ziplock bag. I always have one on my kit anyway.
I pretty much have all my stuff sorted out. I might not wear the small backpack with the water bladder this year and just carry a water bottle but not sure on that just yet.
I should have taken off my pistol and put in in my backpack when I had to walk through the swamp last year.

Careful if you run loaded. Not sure you can have the pistol out unless you’re instructed to do so by an RO. Will probably depend on who is at the stage. Or, just run unloaded.

I just let the Glock soak, it still shoots wet. I should probably submerge the ACRO tomorrow just to make sure it’s not gonna suck water as there is 0 % chance we won’t be in the water. I keep my rifle out of the water.

I may not move with it, but I’ll have a ham radio with me in the truck until at least after the match directors briefing.

I have to replace the speed laces on my boots this week. Solomon speed laces are about to bust, which is very strange. Would have sucked to break on course.

I can take my holster off of my belt by just unclipping it with the Glock still in it if I need to. After going through the muck last year I had a ton of magazine problems.

“Final” prep of some stuff today.

Replaced a frayed quick lace on one of my boots (how bad would that suck if it let go a mile in?) Amazon has a really nice set that looks like the adjustment is going to hold up like a Solomon does. I’ll use it this weekend to make sure it’s going to work.

I ordered up some waterproof map pockets and colored grease pencils as well. Should be here next week.

Charging my ham radios because “Matt”.

Also am doing something I never do. I get bruised badly from the Safariland belt loop so I bought a True North concepts mount a year ago to fix this and have been resisting trying it due to the hardware. After last weeks 2gun bruising I said fuck it. I mounted it today and I’ll be damned if this fucking thing didn’t put pressure on my quad the same as the Safariland. BUT, being aluminum and I wear the pistol right at belt level, I modified it and I think this is going to work. I’ll try it Thursday on the range doing final zeros and holds off of barriers, etc. so it should get some use.

Anyone else still prepping?

I’ll hit the range on Saturday.
I’ll admit I haven’t been tuned in for this match with everything else in life going on and I’ve been thinking heavily about doing Mammoth in March but I haven’t nailed down a partner yet.
I’ll get my daughter to help me load mags which might be one of the best parts of match prep for me.

I ordered my kid a pair of Speed Assults for her 5K. She was going to do it in gortex hikers. I’ve made that mistake and don’t want to see her suffer through that.

When I go confirm zerod she’s going to try a few pistols and see which one she wants to run. She busts my balls about wanting to run it wih my P210 but she’s out of her mind. She’s probably run a G17 with irons or G47 with an ACRO.
