anyone running the 208 amax in a 300wsm? i used them in a 600 yrd f-class match and they did ok. did'nt have much time to work up a load. i think with a little more time they will work out great.

i would also would like to try the 190 gr bergers.

Re: 208 amax

Give the 190's a try. I think with the WSM you'll be better to get more velocity with the 190's than have a larger bullet with the 208's. I've got the 208's for my 300 RUM but I have enough case capacity to get enough velocity. I could be wrong but that's just what I know from a couple guys I shoot with that have the 300WSM. They get around 3000fps with the Lapua 185's and just a little less with the 190 VLD's. Best thing would be to make up a load with the 208's and check your velocities.

Re: 208 amax

If you have more 208's on the shelf, try H4831sc or RL22. I'm getting excellent speed from RL22 with the 208's out of my 30-06, your 300 WSM has about 12% more case capacity and a shorter case, so the usual equivalent barrel lenth will net you a reasonable jump in speeds.

The 190 Bergers are great bullets too, don't give up on the 208's though.

Bought a while back, still have some on my shelves. save them for the rainy days.
