I fell for the Savage 10 Ashbury Precision in 6.5 CM at $849 after rebate from Cabelas. I also grabbed the Cronus FFP scope at $999 on sale before it went out of stock. What would be the best mount for this? I figure I need a mount with 20 MOA since the rifle itself has a full rail.

There is a chance I don't like the Savage and want to instead get a Tikka TAC A1. So I figure i'm better off buying a 20MOA mount instead of a base that is specific to the Savage.

Also, down the road I am saving for a Nightforce F1 5-25 and it has the same 34mm tube diameter. So I see the base/rings as being a long term investment.

    Thanks for any suggestions!

I found the 4601 on their site. But the price of $410+ is about 2x what I was figuring the mount would cost. Anything comparable in the near $200 range?

I’ve gotta agree with ya on the cost of the Spuhr mounts. They have great features and would be my first choice but that’s only if money wasn’t a consideration.

You could go Nightforce ultra-light unimount 20 moa built in, $250? If I were you I'd look in the PX section(For sale section, Accessories). You might find something used, but in brand new condition. Price thats around $300-325, shipped to you. The price of admission is worth the $. Once you buy a set, you'll never go back. Built in bubble level, self leveling wedge, no ring marks on your scope if you ever remove it and sell. It protects your investment. You bought a nice gun and scope why skimp on rings?
