I am getting a 22-250 with a 1:8" twist barrel that is 22" long. I have enough 75 Amax to wear out the barrel.

Of these powders which is my best bet?
    IMR 8208 XBR
    Varget
    IMR 7828ssc
    4831sc

Varget or 2208 down the bottom of the world. It isn a mid range powder just what you need for that boiler room. 4831sc is for 243 and above.Outstanding in 270.

I used 4831SC and 4000mr in mine with the 75 and 80 a max. I didn't try anything faster. I liked 4831SC best, but it sucks getting those big ol grains through that little neck. My first one had a really long lead, the boat tail was about at the shoulder junction, it shot out extremely quick due to firing schedule I imagine it was a 26" 1 in 7. I have another one now 23" 1 in 8 but I have only been shooting 53 vamx over varget.

I would throw out 8208 due to case fill. I imagine it would end up being around 29-31 grains for max charge, 4451 and 4350 should give best velocity.

Of the ones you list, I’’d try Varget. Conventional thinking says the slower ones should work best with the heavies but that was most definitely not the case with my 22-250 barrel. I found nothing acceptable in terms of accuracy with either 414 or 4350. R15, however, gives superb accuracy for me with the 75gr Amax, allowing me to shoot a 2.5” five shot group at 710 yards. Varget and R15 are very close in burn rate, so out of your list I’’d start with Varget.
