Many new cartridges it seems and modifications to AICS mags to accommodate them. The 22-250 never benefited from any of this effort.
So, what’s a guy with a 22-250 to do?
22-250 is one of my favorites. I'm right there w ya on the mag issues. I think if you go to Ackley improved, it straightens the case wall and that might solve the problem. I have a straight 22-250 now that I'm pretty sure is shot out, and I'm leaning to the Ackley option. Already have everything but dies, so.....

Read up a bit more because the ackley improved version has existed for a long time as was mentioned above.
Also, the 22 creed is basically a 22-250ai but with no forming required.
I would like to run an 80 grain class bullet at 3100. Have a new 8 twist 25.5” finish length barrel. 4831 on hand and a Badger “22” brake. If I could have 10 reliably in the mag, that would be for me.

Get your 250 reamed to 22 creed. You can fireform all your 250 cases. With full power loads. Mine were all 1/2. And just have the added capacity when you reload. All benefit. No down side.
When your barrel is smoked you can go faster twist if wanting to shoot heavies. It stay where you are at zip light bullets.
I run 75s at 3450 in my 1-7 creed.
And 68s at 3200 in my 1-9 Bergera that was reamed as described.
Exactly, you’ll want a 22-250 AI or 22 Creed. The case taper is too much on the standard 22-250 AI to feed well from an AICS mag.
I really enjoy shooting my 1:8 22-250 AI. Hammers with the 88 ELDM. Once the barrel is shot out, I’ve got a 22 Creed prefit all ready to toss on the action.
