22 Ammo

Still Gone

Here in Northern Michigan .22 ammo is still, after a year, very hard to come by. Our local Walmart gets a little about ouce a week and it sells out in about two hours. I was able to buy one box of 550 rds. there last year. At least he price was about "Normal". None of the smaller stores that sell ammo have any. This has not been a real problem for me since I have always kept a supply on hand. It has been hard on those that don't. I thought that the supply would be about back to normal by this fall but it is not even close. With deer season just over, most of the centerfire is sold out too. I guess the moral is "Stay Prepared".

Hard to get it where I live as well. I'm content shooting my flintlocks while this crap is going on. Hell, I've probably shot my muzzle loaders more then anything else over the last 35 years. Still, it does get old not seeing the .22lr and other rimfire ammo, available. And, it's not just rimfire that isn't available, it's now pretty much everything. Eventually this crap will pass - so to speak...

I have been trying to get Winchester Xpert Hollow points 36G to group but I think I can do better throwing rocks at the target. :)
I have been looking on gunboat and thinking of buying some Eley match OSP or the cheaper box of Eley Hollow Points. Any suggestion guys. Shooting a semi-auto.

A warning,,,do not let what happened here in Connecticut happen in your states. I can NO LONGER BUY ON LINE AMMO! It violates state law, and no distributer is selling to me. I don't blame them, they have all been great in the past, so don't hold anything against them. You need to show in person your state permit to carry, or a "firearms identification card" to buy ammo in this state. It is very frustrating, as rimfire is bare here too. funny, I can get al the centerfire I want now....

I was in Dallas last week for work and stopped into a Wal-Mart, they had every kind of ammo in stock, their shelves were full. The Wal-Mart here doesn't have anything.
