So for you guys shooting the 22 creed with 80gr-90gr what profile cut ( 6 groove or 5r )and twist rate is working for you?

I read post about people having bullets blowing up mid flight and wanted to know if the community ever settled on a solution.

7 twist for me with my 85 rdfs.

It’s like 340k rpm when it’s going but when you are pushing super fast such as with a 22 creed I feel that if your bullet can’t handle that then you need to get a better bullet.

Years ago I built a 22x47 Lapua, similar to the 22 Creed just a little less capacity and went with an 1-8" twist rate and had great luck shooting 80 JLK at about 500 feet AGL. I would probably stick with 1-8" if I did another 22x47 unless I was looking at shooting 90 grain bullets.

I have also read that a .219 bore versus .218 will help some with the bullets self destructing.

No personal experience but that's what I plan to do with a 22 Creedmoor or 22-250 Ackley Improved, and I'll likely go with an 8 twist for 75/80 grain bullets.

I have a 22x47 Lapua as well. What did you find as your best load ? I shoot H4350 with 75 grain Hornady A-max because I have like 5k of them . I found a pretty decent node at 40.3 grains and 3580 fps
