The buckmarks in my experience are more accurate and have a better trigger than the ruger mark IIIs. However the plastic in the slide of the buckmark is not to my liking even though i have had no problems. If its just a practice gun the argument can be made if it breaks you order parts from brownells and no big deal. THe rugers are built to last. If you are looking to mimic characteristics of a centerfire pistol grip angle becomes a strong consideration. My vote was for other, and i concur with s524 a mark II (better trigger than mark III) or 22/45.
