I am thinking of getting a suppressor for my .22’s. Does anyone have any experience with any certain companies? I would like to stay as cheap as possible (of course), I would like to be able to clean it (take apart), and I would like it to be quiet (Duh). My priorities are not in that order. Please point me in the direction of some good products. Thanks.

I have the TBAC 22L-1 and its the shit. Very quiet and light. I also have a liberty essence pending. I cant wait to compare them side by side. The TBAC is sealed and the essence is user cleanable so I got the best of both worlds. I don't see needing to clean the TBAC any time soon. Hope it helps ya

I agree with these guys, dont skimp, I bought a YHM Mite and ended up getting it recored by the silencer store. It is now as quite as the other cans mentioned above but it took a lot of messing around to get there.

I've got the original Spectre and love it. Very quiet and easy to clean. Like the others said, don't skimp. It is such a hassle to do the paperwork that I waited 2 years to order my next one. And once you've had one you will want another.

I just ordered a Silencerco 22 Sparrow,the only way to go in 22 Cal in my opinion. You can't go wrong with a Sparrow. Cheap it's not, Cheap is not always the best way to go when it comes to a can!!!! What I have learned is that Cans are not all created Equal!!!! Do you need Full auto use? Multi Cal? What are you going to clean the guts of the can with? Remember on an aluminum can you cannot use certain solvents to clean because it will destroy the aluminum parts. On the other hand with a stainless can you can you stronger solvents.The outer tube of the sparrow never needs to be cleaned, just wiped off.

I have one on a Savage MkII FV-SR, the thing is stupid quiet when shooting subs. I would get a can that protects the outer tube, like a sparrow or spectre II.

Id suggest going somewhere to hear a few for yourself. To the ear most will sound the same (at least they do to me). Think about the other features of the can and what you intend to use it on. Weight, material, expensive tools to disassemble, etc.
I will tell you this. I have most of the recent 22 cans on the market with the exception of the TBAC, but Ill be getting one soon. From Huntertown Arms, Spectre 2, Tactical Solutions, Prodigy, to the AAC Element 2 and many in between. Sound alone is not enough to justify the price difference. Monocore baffles like the AAC Prodigy suppressors do have a little louder first shot, but I prefer this model because its easier to take apart for cleaning. The Huntertown Arms can is also an excellent value and it comes apart with common tools for cleaning. The Spectre 2 sounds as good as any, and is a very well built and good looking can. Like I said, go somewhere and look at several.
I honestly believe that suppressors are some of the most marked up items that you can purchase in this hobby. The most expensive is not always the best bet. I found this out after spending all my money on an M4-2000 only to find out a few months later that the Yankee Hill Phantom works just as well at half the cost.

Every time I use my Scilercerco sparrow I smile like a fool. My only complaint is that the finish on the tube appears to be showing some wear, I know at some point Scilencerco had an issue with their finisher. At some point I might send it in for a re coat, but till then I am loving it too much to care.

I have compared the original Element, 2011 manufacture, to the Xcaliber Genesis SS, a recored Outback 2 take-down, the Elite Iron Echo, the Sparrow SS and the Tactical Solutions product line. All ears (more than a dozen listeners) thought the Genesis SS to be quietest, whether on the P22, 21A, or bolt action rifle.
The Genesis SS is a lot like the Element, a bit heavier, threads are the same on the end caps but first round pop seems less.
Have a look for yourself, though, because everyone hears reports a little differently. Probably due to how deaf we all are and from what...

I have many .22 cans. The only ones that I have been disappointed by are the YHM mites. I guess I should recore them since I have two. I love my AWC Valkyrie Ti A+ Great Suppression and light, Gemtech Outback IID A++ Great suppression small and light , SWR Spectre II A+ great suppression but heavy, YHM Mites SS and Aluminum B- loud first round pop average suppression. I say, "Thunder Beast" as superior. They're titanium cans and perform as good or better (IMHO). Yes they are more expensive than others in some cases but they do perform. Again, titanium, doesn't rust and is much lighter than steel. Again, my opinion.

I just ordered a SS Sparrow after much debate. Funny I have three .30 cal suppressors and debated on what .22 suppressor for longer than any of my .30 cal cans.

Titanium cans get hot really quick. Just something to consider if you are lucky enough to have a full auto, or do alot of 22 mag dumps.
I have been using an Element 2 recently on everything from handguns to full auto AR conversions. Not daylight and dark difference in sound reduction over some of the other big names, but it is noticeably quieter if you fire them all side by side.
Titanium cans get hot really quick. Just something to consider if you are lucky enough to have a full auto, or do alot of 22 mag dumps.
