I just found a 1966 rem700 chambered in 222. It has been 22years since i have owned one and have lost the load data i once had.
What load are any of you using?
I have 500 50gr slugs that im hoping to use.
Just want to use it for varmints, when i was younger it was my deer gun.

My favorite is H- 322, which was also a favorite among the BR shooters at that time. Anything that works in a 223 should also serve you well. Very cool rifle, by the way! Lightman

I've had outstanding results with a 50gr Speer TNT, 22.5 grains of IMR 3031 out of my Remmy 722.

20.5 grains of H4198 gives me just under 3200 f/s and groups under an inch at 200 yards with 50 grain Berger bullets in my Tikka M55.
Great cartridge and lots of fun.

I used to have a Sako Riihimaki in .222 Remington. Nice rifle, just couldn't get parts for it anymore.

I used about 20.5 to 21.5 grains of IMR 4198. It was very accurate with just about any bullet from 50 to 52 grains.

+1 for 4198 I load 21 grains and it is very accurate in my CZ.

I see 4198 seems to be a reoccuring favorite here...H or IMR matter?

H-322 with 52 gr A-Max has been a great load for me.

Rem .222 Varmit Special circa 1982ish. Not the fastest load, but mine shot the best with the old Speer 50gr hp (flat base, the one with the huge hollow point opening) and 19.0 imr 4198.

I shoot my Uncle's Sako Rihm.. and use BLC/2.
The 222 was used for BR for a long time and is accurate.
If you can beg, bum, or steal enough for a few rds. you may be happy. Regards, FM

Thanks for all the replys. I have some loaded up and ready to go with h322 and h4198. I hope this weekend i will see just how this thing shoots.
