Finally made it to the range today with the boom stick. Really liking the .243 shooting 105amaxs.

Only shot one group at 500 and it was right at half MOA.

Re: .243 Hotness

Its a factory barreled action.

I didn't have my phone with me on the group pics but am waiting for another shooter to send 'em to me.

I shot about 70 rounds and spent the most of the time doing positional shooting with the TAB Sling and weak side shooting.

The low recoil is great.

I dont know what your shooting but 105 hornadys in mine shoot good and 105 berger vld's shoot great (jumped and touching) both powered by H1000.

very nice set up.

Re: .243 Hotness

Yup

105 Amaxs with 40.5 Grains of IMR4350. 2.765 is the COAL if I
remember correctly.

Haven't had a chance to chrono yet but my guestimate puts me around 2950FPS.

Re: .243 Hotness

I didn't have to good of luck with the 105 Amax. I'm going to admit that I was a rookie reloader with no clue of tuning the ammo to the gun when I tried them. I may give them a shot again. Right now 95gr SMK with 42.7gr Hybrid 100v has given me .497 groups at 200 yards with a adl youths model with nothing but a timney trigger, remington adjustable lop kit and some good glass. It really likes 70 SMK and the 85gr game kings too.

Good shooting.

Re: .243 Hotness

i was under the impression that the factory 9 1/8" twist wasnt enough for anything past 100grs.

Anyone use the nosler 105 custom comp? it has a great bc?
Thanks, TJ

Re: .243 Hotness

You will grow fond of the 243 Win, it's is a nice little round. With the 105 Amax,107 SMK or 115dtac you will have flat trajectory and relatively low recoil. I am on the finishing touches on my .243. My daughter wanted to shoot some last week so I let her drive it. She put 10 rounds into about 4 inches at 500 meters with it.
