I just had RW Snyder build a .243 (great job and fast) using a 8 twist Krieger @ 22" and chambered for the 105 Amax. My 105 Amax handloads are doing slightly under 1/2 MOA at 100 yds. and running 2950 FPS. using 41.0 grs. of IMR 4350. I shot some Hornady factory 95 gr. SSTs and they are about 1.5 MOA I have a box of the 95s to handload and am hoping I can get them to shoot as well as the 105's. Any suggestions for a good starting load for them ? I hope the 8 twist isn't too fast. I also shot some Remington factory 80's and the groups were crap.

I am sure it will shoot 115 DTACs well as the 105 AMAX is gtg. I want to load the 95s to use on our Va. whitetails here instead of my .308. The 105s are a bit explosive and I need something with a little more expansion and penetration. The DTACS and AMAX will both creat a nasty surface wound if I happen to hit the shoulder bone.

I haven't had any luck with the SSTs in anything I loaded them in. I have a Kreiger gain twist barrel thats going to be a .243win and only run bullets in the 80 to 100gr range. With the Gain twist it will work out to be like a 8.5twist and mine also will finish at 22" Look at the Bergers I know that they make a 95er but don't know if its in there hunting bullets. Try running some bonded bullet sounds more like what you need anyways. Good Luck.
