25 SAUM

I am about to have one built, waiting on a bolt from Defiance, my 5 weeks should be up this thur, lol. I was just planning on using some trickle down common sense from the 6.5 version. I built the case and bullet in QL, and have run a fair share of profiles, plus received some data from an acquaintance who is running one. My smith usually knocks my crap out pretty fast and hopefully in 3 weeks or less I should have mine.
What are your concerns or questions?

Well I was planning on doing the same as you. I was just curious to see some real life numbers people were getting.
This guy I met, was getting over 3200fps, 131gr, Retumbo, I think a 26" barrel. We discussed a couple things he was encountering, I told him to back the speed down some while explaining some logic.
In Quickload, it my parameters are remotely close, Retumbo seems to be the quintessential offering. It is almost impossible to find, plus I've never been a big fan of it, so I bought 2 8lb jugs of VV N 565, I'll die trying getting it to work.
I do question the 26" barrel I purchased, thinking of going 28", for the way I plan to shoot this thing, length is not an issue.

I’ve got 8lbs of h1000 I was gonna try to use. Retumbo is unavailable everywhere I’ve seen. I’ll be going with a 26” barrel also.

We're all different, I wouldn't shoot a case if all that was available were forster dies, which is standard 25 sst. And you're not getting one made on your own.
I believe only Hornady dies are the only ones available now. I'm in the process of a 25sst build myself. I love my 7ss so much I've decided to build a shorter 25sst. I'm gonna go with an 18" barrel and hopefully stay above 3000 fps with 131's.

I have a 25 SAUM and worked with the designer of the bullet last year on testing it. I found RL26 provided best velocity. 61.0 gr of RL26 out of a 27” 7.5 twist Bartlein barrel was good for 3330-3340fps. Retumbo is too slow and not worth your time. H1000 and RL26 will get you in the upper 3200 range to mid 3300 with ease. We found 3330fps was good speed for accuracy.
