257 WBY Mag ELR Suitable ?

Been thinking about building a 257 WBY Mag for long range 1000 -1800 yards , with the high velocities I was thinking it may suit this ? I havent bought any components yet but was thinking of Rem 700 Mag action , 26" barrel 1:8 twist , Calvin Elite, , maybe an A5 stock and an AI mag.

I`ll be hand loading all ammo and was also wondering does this caliber suit high BC 140gr bullets ?

No issue with recoil , my current main rifle is a 300 wm , its the velocity of the 257 that got me wondering.

whats against using 140gr Sierra`s or VLD`s?

Sierra or Berger doesn’t make a 25 cal 140 bullet. Your 300 win mag should be sufficient for now or build a 300 Norma mag or a 338 Lapua

If you want to do a 25 cal, use the 131 gr ACE from Blackjack. Best high BC bullet for the 25 cals right now. A 257 Wby is going to be fast and flat with relatively mild recoil. Preliminary numbers put it at 4.7 mils to 1000 yards, 11.3 mils to a mile, 16.2 mils to 2000 yards. Subsonic at almost 2100 yards at sea level. It'll be pretty overbore, so don't expect a lot of barrel life.

high BC would be the 131 Blackjack

but it's a poor choice

300 PRC or 300 Sherman Mag with 215/225/230

or if you wanna go crazy wait for his 7 Sherman Mag with the 180 ELDM or new ATips
