I've searched on loads for this round and haven't came up with a whole lot. I'm chambering a barrel for this and I'm looking for some info on fire forming loads and formed loads. Or at least good starting points. Here's what I've got
24" finish rock creak 1:8 twist
Stiller predetor short action
Wanting to shoot mainly 140 class bullets. Any info would help
Thanks
Donald

I'll check my notes and post some loads. H4350 is my favorite powder. Fed match, or CCI BR primers. 140 Hornady bthps are running 2935 out of 26" Kreiger. Remington brass will have primer pockets last 3-4 loads on average. Fireforming loads shoot almost as well as formed cases. My oal is 2.820 to 2.830 from AI single stack mags. No feeding issues at all.
I'll post up some loads tomorrow night.

Mine too. I think he designed it to mag feed from AI type mags. I was really lucky with mine..it shot very good from the first day. I bet my loads will work in yours too.
Mine is on Stiller Tac 30 in an AI 2.0

Mike Davis chambered mine.
I am running 45 grns of H4350, Remington brass, Fed 215's at 2.820 w Hornady 140 bthps. 26" barrel at 2935fps.

Fire forming load: 44.5 H4350, everything else the same. If I use CCI BR primers I bump the load up .2grns. That is for the fireforming and match load.
I full length size and bump the shoulder 1 to 1.5 thousandths every firing. I've messed with making brass from 308, but it is lots of trouble.

I don't use the cream of wheat, poly fill, wax, or backward facing bullets method of fireforming.
I just load and shoot and they are almost as accurate as the formed loads. Way easier than most people think.

My go to powder is H4350. If I have lots on hand I will just load and shoot as other have said accuracy is great. Since it is hard to get right now I've been using 14gr of Unique and cream of wheat to form brass. Right now I'm using 136gr Lapua Scenar-L's and 45.6gr of H4350 for 2950fps

Yeah, its been a while since I had to fireform brass. If things get worse with the brass and powder supply I'll give it a try too. Hell, I can't even find Winchester brand 243 brass....

Thanks a lot guys. I just finished bedding the stock. Tororrow ill pop it out and do some cleanup. Hopefully ill have time to make some loads and shoot this weekend. I've got both h4831 and h4350 to go behind 140 Amaxes in Lapua brass.
Thanks
Donald

I think its going petty well.
47g h4831SC
Lapua bass
CCI large rifle
140gr AMAX
0.010 jump
all groups were under .75 outside to outside. Best one was .674 5 shot.
cases formed well looking forward to working up a load for it to see what i can get out of it.

I tried 4831 sc, can't remember why but switched to H4350. I may not have been getting the velocity I was looking for with the 4831. Both powders should work just fine.
What stock did you put it in?
