270 to 6.5-284

Here's what's cooking I have rem 270 sendaro that like the rifle but it don't shoot to my standard. My father switched from a 24" barrel bartiln to 27 on his 6.5-284 custom. How much work wound it take to slap that 6.5 on my sendaro ? Will it feed ? Do I need to change bolt heads? This barrel is a shooter 3/8 grouper with 3/4 of its life left. I've been thinking of a custom build for a while now and maybe this is my quick fix

Your action / bolt will work. Both Long actions calibers, both use a .478 Bolt Face. You will need to send the barrel and your action to a gunsmith an have it fit properly.

If you have the tools to swap it yourself you could at least try it and hope that you’re lucky and it headspaces correctly.

All you need is a Criterion RemAge barrel, barrel nut wrench and go/no go gauges and you will be off and running.
