For some reasons my 28Nos always seems to flatten primers. Load on the low end, or at the top, doesn’t matter. No other pressure sign, just pancaked primers.

Worndering if this is just a thing with 28Nos? They are a pretty high-pressure cartridge.

Using Peterson Brass, 175 berger elite hunters, WLRM primers, Retumbo. Loads range from 75gr at 2920fps to 79gr at 3080fps. All primers flat.

Here’s a photo of some examples. Left to right: unfired, 77gr, 78.5gr, 79gr.

Are Winchester primers soft? I usually use CCI’s.

Heh, that ain't flat.
When you punch the primer out and it looks like the head of a nail, then that's flat.
From what I've seen from a couple of my buddies 28 noslers, primers are kinda flat with no other pressure signs.
No catering, no heavy bolt lift, no ejector marks. You're good to go.

Ah. That’s what I was wondering. It’s a bit flatter than my other rifles, but I do t have any other magnum-types.
