I haven’t found much published data on RL33 and 28 Nosler. I went to the 200 yard line last weekend and shot strings from 82-85 grains.
Mullerworks cut rifled 4 groove modified 28” SS barrel/ blueprinted rem700
Nolser brass/ CCI250’s/180 Berger Hybrid’s/.002” neck tension/ cases are not yet turned
I was thinking this would be faster based on others published speeds. I tried H1000 and hit pressure signs and an accuracy node at 3050. I was hoping to hit the same node with RL33 but without the pressure.
We only have steel targets setup to 1760 so my objective is to go transonic just past that mark. With the accuracy node I found, at 2997, I’ll be shy by 71 yards.
My brass at 85 grains started to show very slight primer cratering/ no ejector marks/ easy bolt lift. Should I press higher and try to find the next node or settle for 2997 FPS for my application?
