So, I’ve read numerous threads from many articles on 28 Nosler and powders for loads. Seems RL33 is popular, but I keep reading of temp change issues. However, most everything I read is several years old now.
I’m loading for a Bergara B14 HMR. Tried H1000 and RL33 out of Nosler brass and the 175 grain Nosler Accubond LR. I’m still not satisfied yet and wondering what some of you people have had success with for this round.

Thanks in advance.

Reviving an old(er) thread and looking for some direction. Planning on 195 Bergers and either Peterson or Nosler Brass. Would like to plan on powder purchases. Has there been a general consensus on temp stable powder? This seems to be the only thread on the Hide related to 28N

Hello from Alaska. Working on 28 Nos development, currently using Hornady A-Tip 190gr, and Berger 184gr F-Class Bullets, Using US896 Powder.

Rifle Used- Browning X-Bolt C.O.L. Max is 3.675"
Twist is 1:9, curious to know how the heavy bullets pushed at 3,000fps work with the slower twist. I will rebarrel to a 1:8 after I have fun with this one. Going to be used for Dall Sheep, Mt. Goat, Moose, Elk.

Using the Hornady A-Tip it recommends using C.O.L. of 3.58"
Berger 184gr Hybrid the C.O.L. from the manual is 3.34"

There is ammunition online that uses the Hornady A-Tip at 3.6" and the Berger 180-184gr at 3.5"

Did a pressure test on the Hornady A-Tip from 87-92.5gr of US869 no pressure signs up to 92.5gr which is the redline on the Hornady book for US869.

Next I will be doing some accuracy testing between the Berger 184gr and the 190gr A-Tips.

Also using the 153gr A-Tips in some 6.5 Creedmoor load development.
