Hi all. Just after a bit of advice please. Just got the .338 AI barrel for my AXMC and am looking to develop loads with the Hornady 285 ELDM as I've had a lot of success with their 178 ELDM in the .308 Barrel.
My question is about the COAL you are using on this bullet and I would be interested in what people are loading to for accuracy specifically in the AXMC rifle. I measured the distance to the lands on mine at 97.7 mm (3.856 inches) which seemed quite long. I'm only using marks on a cleaning rod and a bullet jammed into the lands though so the accuracy of that measurement might not be perfect.
Any specific information on a good starting point COAL data for the AXMC with the 285 ELDM will be gratefully received.
