Rifle Scopes 2k budget for PRS scope

if I want to run production class, is the scope suppose to be $2k and under msrp and not resale value?!
That is correct, here is the section pulled from the PRS rules:
2.3.2 Production Division combined rifle and scope MSRP as listed on the company’s website shall not exceed $4,000 USD, the rifle shall not exceed $2,000 USD and the optic not exceed $2,000 USD.

Given the $2,000 MSRP limitation there are not many scopes that fall in this category that are close to this price point, they are either going to be quite a bit less (like the PST II series or the new Athlon Ares ETR or the Bushnell DMR II), would be nice if PRS updated the limit of the scope to $2500 as that would open the door to some more scopes or allow the $4000 for both but remove the the $2k limitation for each, in other words if someone wants to buy a Ruger Precision Rifle at $1399 MSRP that would leave up to $2600 for the scope.

and there should be a list of the scopes that meet this in the appendix
That's really for the competitor to figure out unfortunately, asking PRS to figure out all scopes from all manufacturers would be a daunting task, if you're interested in a particular scope just go to the Mfr's website and see what the MSRP is listed at, if they don't list it then contact them directly and I'm sure they'll help you out.

Not sure where these are, the other reticles go for $2100-$2250 but the MR4 is the most sought after reticle and I'd imagine it would be closer to $2400 or more. Every now and then you get a crazy deal where someone is offloading some gear but in general that is not the case.

Bill, one sold today in the for sale section for $1850. MR2 reticle but a steal nonetheless!

The Cronus BTR MAP price is $1,799.99 and it's a great scope. I ran the Cronus in 2016 and the BTR version in 2017. Solid optic all the way around. Great and bright clear image, very nice reticle, great controls, easy and forgiving eyebox, lifetime VIP warranty that I have yet to use. The illumination is the best of any optic I've used also.

For production class it's a no-brainer. Also don't forget Athlon's new Ares ETR coming soon for I think $1,199? It's a 4.5-30x, 34mm, with a floating dot reticle similar to their APRS in the Cronus.

Look at the rules closely, it clearly says the "MSRP as listed on the companies website" and not MAP, so keep that in mind; however, I double checked Athlon's website and found two contradictory prices, their main page shows $2159 MSRP but when you go into the scope page itself it says $1999.99

Are you kidding me, what was wrong with it!!! That is an absolute steal at that price, but I also saw an MR2 where they were asking $2250 I think which is about what I would think they would go for, you'll always have some crazy outliers I suppose... They guy who paid $1850 will be absolutely thrilled.

I just saw the post on the classifieds, they joined last year and only have a few posts over that time all in the buy and sell, that would make me a bit nervous, but if it holds true that is the deal of the year...

I saw the ZP5 listed for $1850 yesterday and considered picking it up just in case. It would have been my 3rd ZP5. Whoever bought it got a hell of a deal.
