2nd Amendment

It's not.

President Lincoln suspended the first during the Civil War. The Fifth was killed by the Patriot Act.

Govt always finds a way to make it ok to save us from whatever bogeyman dujour.

To the extent that people allow. It's a slow constant march
The people working in government with their own agendas - do not appreciate the limits placed upon government by that document.... so they find ways to circumvent it whenever possible.

Government will not tolerate being told what it CANNOT do, history is full of examples of govt officials / lawmakers / POTUS crafting workarounds to constitutionally imposed limitations. Lincoln, FDR, Obama, GW Bush, Wilson….nothing new under the sun, always use fear and/or a major event to seize more power (never temporary, despite what we are told at the time).

Now that it's common knowledge that ANY emergency is a good enough reason to suspend the Constitution - we have lots and lots of emergencies.

Obviously most amendments have conditions or limitations on them. You can't yell fire in a crowded theater unless there is an actual fire etc. We all love the 2nd as much as you and realize it's being eroded but let's not start taking a victim stance liya bunch of whiny wokes.
