What work better for tactical competitions a S&B 3-12X50 or 4-16X50 is the extra 4 power worth it.The only problem I em hawing is the 4-16x50 mill mill is only a single turne 13 mill knob the 3-12x50 mill mill has almost twice that with mor internal movement.

You really don't need that much travel unless you are trying to shoot a 308 past 1000 yards as long as you are using a 20 moa base. I usually don't run my 5 to 25 S&B over 15 power during a match and alot of the time it is on 12, as long as the targets are not over 1000. I can spot my hits and find my targets better if i have a bigger field of view. I have a 4-16x50 on a 308 with a 18 moa base and i can get to 1000 with it.

With your 4-16x50 and 18 moa base do you get the full 13 mills of trawel when you zero at 100 yards or 200 yards?

Both the 3-12x and 4-16x have about 13 mils up elevation, but the 3-12x might have more internal adjustment. Nevertheless, I would definitely go for the 4-16x for tactical competitions.
