Browning has done the semiauto right for a very long time

Both BAR and the Benelli are solid . Until I actually handled and shot the R1 running rounds down on paper @100 yard . Before that I would have said BAR hands-down .
( & I only shot the 300wm ) 'synthetic stock' . So a 30-06 R1 should be even more lighter recoil , and the R1-300wm was surprisingly light recoil for such a super lightweight build in Mag. caliber .
There ( argo ) short-stroke piston system is great design and with crio. barrel . Was MOA with shooting lowend factory box ammo

I’ve never shot a mk3 but I’ve shot a lot of mk1 and mk2 Safari BARs and I wouldn’t have any other autoloader. Some are stupid accurate for an auto and recoil is just nonexistent.

Gentlemen The R1 has changeable barrels , not so for BAR. I have both. BAR 7 MM REM MAG a better round than 30.06. But my R1 30.06 has also a 300 win mag barrel. It like golf clubs, a 1 driver, 2&3/
