Due to Ammogeddon 2020 this is what I have available.
IMR 4451, CCI large rifle primers, and Barnes 168 grain TTSX bullets. I have not been able to find any published load data for this bullet/powder combination.
I am fairly new to reloading so I’m not completely willing to follow my research, but after combining over several pages of data I was thinking of a starting powder charge of 50.0 grains.
Any thoughts from you experienced guys would be helpful.
Thank you

I shoot heavy match out of my ‘06 and i Picked up a keg of 4451 I arrived at the same charge as IMR 4350. I say work up carefully using data from IMR 4350 or you could always go to their website using the data from the manufacture.

From the Hodgdon reloading site. Should get you close.

2016 Hodgdon Annual Reloading Manual

165 gr HDY GMX

IMR 4451.........50.4 --54.3

That gmx and Barnes bullet should have about the same bearing surface..........and that should be taken into consideration when hand loading along with bullet weight

The Barnes book doesn't have 4451 in it but says IMR 4350 is 53-57.5.

Jump those TTSX .050 to the lands. If they are closer than that the groups will not be as tight. You're gonna love the performance of those bullets, especially terminal. I am a huge fan of TTSX after watching every single thing they hit die quickly with big exit wounds. I'd love to recover one and see it all petal'd out. Never been able to find one.
