here are the specs of my blank, it will go on my next build:

Obermeyer 5r
chromolly steel
1/10
#7 contour
should finish about 23.5"-24"
have not decided on crown, probably flat so it will look more m24ish
not fluted, m24 taper size

I picked up my donor today. Guapo is going to do the work for me, once I get all the little bullshit parts together.

Only downside is the donor is a j-lock rifle, so I have to buy the new bolt guts. I won't run that bullshit lock on anything I own, what a fucking stupid idea.

I am, and it is nearing completion.

28" Pac-Nor #7 Stainless Super Match. 1:10" poly, FTE muzzle brake
Winchester M70 CRF action, trigger set to 2lbs
McMillan A-5 Adj Woodland Camo
CDI bottom metal w/AICS .300 WM magazines

Hoping to post up pics soon. The rifle will be back from CDI soon, then I need to paint and bed it. Also need to get another stud installed so I can attach a picatinny rail and run an Atlas.

I keep thinking about a 30-06 build to shoot the 208 Amax from a magazine. What's the long COL you guys can get with the Rem 700, Win 70, and either the factory mag box or the aftermarket CDI? Will the 30-06 feed from the standard AI 300 Win Mag magazines?

You have to bend the feedlips in a little bit on the AICS mags. They allow a COAL length of up to 3.65" though, which is great for the 208gr Amax. I had a custom reamer made for my gun with a very long throat. I sent PTG a dummy loaded with 208 seated out to about 3.53".

Very nice Falar. I'm contemplating moving mine into an A5 as well. I haven't quite warmed up to the AICS yet. I'm going to give it some time though and see.

I had one built by 'hide member Jim Kobe recently, well it's been a couple of years now. My how time flies.

Anyhow, it based on a Rem M700 stainless with a Lilja 26" 1 in 10 barrel, Williams bottom metal, Badger rail, Leupold Mark 4 M1 10x, factory trigger and all mounted in a H-S Precision M-24 type stock. Haven't fired it yet but hopefully I'll get to it this year.

Here is my stick:

It was my old Remington 700 BDL 30-06 that I had S&S Precision in Dallas rework.

It is a blue printed action with a 24" Kreiger Remington Varmit 24" barrel with an S&S precision Muzzle brake. It has an H&S precision stock that is skim bedded with H&S bottom metal. The gun is cerakoted in matte black. The gun shoots great and weighs in at around 13lbs with everything you see hanging from it.

This is with 180 gr Accubonds with 56.5gr of H4350 pushing them at 2822 fps

This is with Federal Gold Medal Match 168gr and some SMK reload attempts

Will have one here soon that Roscoe is building for me. Looking forward to it. Built it off the first 700 action gun I bought 20 years ago. Fluted Krieger in a McMillan A3 carbon edge and planning on running 75-185 Bergers

My is finally finished

190 SMK average speed 814,40m/s = 2671fps

with 55,1gr of VV N160 the 220SMK go an average of 805,63m/s = 2643fps

168 SMK average speed 881,00m/s = 2892fps
