30 cal 240 smk

Hi I need help with what is ideal twist rate for 240 gr smk
bullet.rifle will be used mostly at sea level and in colder climate sierra states at least 1 in 9 thanks

What cartridge? IIRC Sierra calls for a 1:9" minimum twist.

For a whisper or blackout, you need an 8 twist for subs. If you push them 2900 fps +, you can get away with a 10 twist.

cartridge is 30 378 wehterby barrel 32 inch I was thinking
1 in 8 twist to be on the safe side ?

You'll loose alot of velocity by over spinning them if you don't need to. I'd go with a 10 twist.

I've shot them with .5 moa accuracy from a 1/10 twist 30-06, at 2610 fps.

1-10" twist works well out of a 300 RUM also.
