I’ve got the itch to buy/build a 300 blackout. The gun would strictly be for plinking and/or home defense. I would primarily like to shoot subs, but would also shoot supers as well. I’m having trouble deciding on barrel length and twist. I thought I wanted a 10.5, but now I’m strongly considering 8.5. The gun will always be shot suppressed with a silencerco Omega 300. They recommend a 8” barrel or longer for the 300 blackout through the omega 300 suppressor. The gun would also be a pistol build. What barrel length would you guys recommend?
Thanks

I've got an 8.5 Odin works barrel. Runs great. Sufficiently accurate with supers or subs for home defense at those ranges or deer or pigs at ranges reasonable for the anemic velocities.

I have an 8.5" and a 10.5" and like both. The 8.5" is made for your uses and run with a can too. Perfect for that use. I just have a flash can on the 10.5" and it's a blast to shoot also. For your use I would definitely go 8.5".

Not sure how much you plan to spend or if you have one you want to buy already but I got my first through PSA and my second through BCA. Both inexpensive but run great.
