Rifle Scopes 300 Blackout Handi-Rifle Scope

Lots of questions; what do you plan on doing with the weapon, shooting, hunting or both, yardages you will be shooting. A 1-4X will give you a good bit of variation and may be a good start.

The rifle will be set up for deer hunting mainly, with a lot of practicing for my two sons. I want to do more research on ballistics, but plan on most shots being less than 100 yards. The rifle will also be shot suppressed.

They both shoot a .22 already, but are small framed children. They are 6 and 7 years of age.

I have considered the Nikon 300 blackout scope as well as the Burris Fullfield 2-7x32.

I'm using a Primary Arms red dot on mine. It's $80 for a T1 type sight. I bought the rifle to be light, simple, and cheap. If you start adding a scope and rings to it, it's not going to be any of those things. And at 100 yards you definitely don't need magnification.

I would go with something like the Aimpoint T1, for those distances I can't see needing anything more and it would keep the lightweight low profile theme of the Handi-Rifle. My 300 BLK SBR'd AR-15 wears an Eotech with the 300 BLK reticle, drop compensation works perfectly with the two dot set up and it's really fast on pigs from the 4-wheeler but even the Eotech would be bulkier than I'd want on a Handi.

If you've gotta have a magnified scope the Vortex PST 1-4x would be a good inexpensive option. My father in law has the capped turret/MOA model on his Blackout and it works well. He had the Nikon you're asking about previous to that and I remember it working ok, but he only had it about 2 months and sold it. With as much pig shooting as we do (almost always fast shots while moving) he wanted true 1x with illumination.

After an AAC rep brought the handi rifle to a class I was attending, I bought a HR in .357mag, and sent the barrel to Accurate Ordnance. They cut and threaded it at 16", I put the Choate youth stock on it, so it's about like the .300

I've went back and forth between a Bushnell TRS25 and an old Redfield 2-1/2X scope.
With the magnified optic, you'll have to run the scope's occular bell behind, in front or over the hammer.
Running it behind, with the full length stock works ok, you can keep it low, and the eye relief works out. For me the standard stock is to long, and underminds the point of the gun.
Running it in front, I had to use Weaver dual extended High rings, so the occular would clear the rail, and it could be mounted far enough forward to clear the hammer & for the eye relief to work with the short stock, which is just about too short..but it makes the rifle tiny.
I have not tried extra high rings, but I'm sure it would be about the same as the other ways..it would add a lot of bulk to the gun.

I wanted a magnified optic, because red dots are starting to look less and less clear to me...but in this case, the benefits don't outweigh the draw backs..so I went back to the Bushnell.

Lotta info on the handi's on Grey beard outdoors(?)
