You actually have that round in a wildcat like many the other calibers it is a 30-223.
This actually starts to look good from a ballistics out of the muzzle with 125gr-130gr bullets.
The issue is that it becomes too long for decent bullets and then you also run into the
magazine issue so you will need magazines w/o internal ribs so they would properly stack
in double column and the better bullets will need to trim back a little. And that is why the whisper
was kept shorter to be able to fit in the GI magazine. Ok for a primarily subsonic round I think.
The 30/223 from VLD magazines runs great in semiauto all the way to 2.45 COAL. One
looses capacity due to the center stack but then there is a substantial gain in performance
vs. the rather anemic supersonic whisper / blackout.
I mean if you are going to make/modify magazines then why not keep the case capacity.
In this respect the 6.5tcu is probably the most efficient of all the "long" variants to run
centerstack. 130 spbt, 125 partition and 123amax run great for hunting and target fun.
10 rounders will give 5-6 shots.
20 rounders will give 10-11 shots.
30 ronnders will give 15-16 shots depending on mag, followers, etc..
Nothing to be invented here. All has been invented a long time ago specially since soldiers
started to come back from Vietnam and wildcat the 223 and ARs in all shapes and forms.
