Re: 300 blk bolt gun

We have been getting a lot of orders for one piece Winchester and Remington bolts for the 300 black out . If you need one let me know. Thanks Dave @ PTG Custom Shop

Re: 300 blk bolt gun

I have been shootin the remington micro seven for a year or so and really like it. I have shot hogs and deer but never subsonic. i have been worried about bullet expansion until this past weekend i tested the lehigh max expansion and they opened up great

having owned and shot both... two reasons, 300blk is way more efficient and quieter that 308 in subs... also cheaper (slightly) to load

Re: 300 blk bolt gun

I put my 300BO using Savage Axis. I haven't shot it yet, since I'm still in the process of converting my brass.

I cut the stock on my Axis since I liked the shorter LOP.

I went with a 16.5" McGowen barrel.

Rem 700, 223 bolt face, blued, Trued, 16.5 " barrel. Flutes on barrel and bolt, AICS 1.5. Running a TBAC 30p-1. It's sickly quiet. Great to 300 yards. Minute of deer at least.

Took this doe at 220 with the blackout.

We can custom make you one. Pic a barrel, we can go with a stock Rem 700 SPS tac. And go from there

Re: 300 blk bolt gun

Here is a CZ 527 I built in 30-221. It worked out wonderfully and didnt' have any of the ejection issues that the Remington 700 does sometimes. They use a detachable mag from the factory and have a very nice single set-trigger. Nice and lightweight with all the good things a smaller action offers. I built a few using the Remington 799 which was an imported Zastava built mini-mauser action. The only mod on most of these guns is the barrel since they were made in .223. The CZ mags need to have relief slots milled in them to clear the wider .30 cal bullet but its a simple mod.

Minute of deer lol.

That is by far the sexiest non-gasser blackout ever.

Re: 300 blk bolt gun

Imitation is the greatest form of flattery. The first time I shot RangerWalker71's blackout, I knew I had to have one more. He is currently building me a bolt blackout after his blueprint.

Re: 300 blk bolt gun

Just got this one all together on a stainless AXIS. BFG bbl, Weaver Kaspa 2.5-10 mil-dot, with my YHM Phantom. 208 Amax subs are Hollywood quiet. I have a good variety of super and sub ammo loaded up to try some different loads in it, just waiting on some good weather. I think I am really going to like this set up on pigs and varmints and close deer hunting. Bolt knob mod will be in the very near future for it, the bolt lift on these is in a terrible relation to the scope, it needs about 3/4-1 inch longer knob on it.

This is true, I have also loaded sub .308 and IDK why .300 is more quiet, but it is.

Re: 300 blk bolt gun

The Black out is great, I'm not sure why a 308 is louder then the 300BO. I have shot both side by side. same bullets and all.
I am very happy with my 300BO. can't wait to kill some pigs over the next month or so with it. big Hunt coming up in a couple of weeks.
I'll post some pic's.

Figured I'd show off my micro seven since they seem to be so rare </div></div>

Saw 2 of those at last weekends LGS.
They where in the $750-800 range.
