Hunting & Fishing 300 Whisper/Blackout Hogs?

Anybody have any experience with 300 Whisper/Blackout with hogs? Is there enough balls behind a subsonic 230g to take one down?

Yes, depending where you hit them, as it is the case with any round in relation to a hog.

In short, aim for the head, at the ears, eye sockets as well(Anywhere it can pass cleanly into the brain cavity). If you can't, then aim for the front shoulders.

Be aware hogs can jump the report, I have had that happen.

As said, shot placement.

It works, but there is no margin for error.

When it works, it is a thing of beauty!

Dropped 3 last week testing different bullets. Most effective was 220 gr behind the ear. I shot a125 gr behind ear also he got up which surprised me. Didn't go far but dropped him.

I've killed 12 hogs in my back yard with 22Lr. I just put it in the ear hole and they drop like a sack of potatoes.

So yes a 30 caliber round will kill them. Like other have said its all about shot placement.
