While working up a load of Retumbo and 208 Amax, I found the accuracy node at 76 grains. I left my half broken chrono at home but the trajectory is saying 3300 fps. The barrel is 29 inches. There is no way that can be close to accurate for velocity or can it?

Seems high to me. But what do I know. My win mag is still being built. I'm interested in seeing the results because I've got 500 a max's to play with. I've heard the secant ogive makes it a little finicky to load, did you find this to be true?
Seated any closer than .015, accuracy falls off immediately. Neck tension seems to matter but only a little. They are currently sized with a .331 bushing but .333 did well, I just can't get the .333 bushing unstuck from the full length die. Federal 07 brass and 215GM primer. Consistency is pretty good, better than Berger 210's. Most come in at 207.7 grains with a few 208 and 207.5. I would start at 15 off the lands then move back if needed. They seem easy to load compared to the Berger 210 or 300 in 338. With two different powders, .5 grains made a big difference in accuracy going from .3MOA to 1MOA in either direction of 76 grains.
I purchased some loaded 230gr bergers and was getting 3000~ on a 15 shot string with a V3 chrono. That is a 28" barrel.

no way. the fastest i could push the 208 AMAX out of my 26in barrel was 2970fps. 3300fps is not possible with the heavy pills
I'm doubting 3300fps as well. I have seen 2950fps from the 208 Amax out of my 24" 300wsm but was getting sticky bolt lift and flat primers.....I would think you would need something like the 30-378 to see 3300fps with a 208gr....but that would be a heck of a flat shooter.
My guess would be in the low 3,000 range to the mid 2950 fps range. I've got a 30" Broughton that pushes the 230 OTM at 2890 fps and the 230 hybrid at 2930 fps with 76.3 Retumbo. But the bearing surface on both bullets are much smaller than the 208 amax. I guess it depends on OAL, throat length, and twist. But 3300 fps, NO WAY
I push them 3000 in a 26" barrel with ramshot magnum and I could go a little faster. Also, I have seen HSM ammo claim 3015. 3300 seems way too high even for a big Weatherby Mag or other big magnums. If someone could hit 3300, the 300 WM or other big 30s would be a force to be reckoned with.
