300 win mag closes hard on no-go

    Any concerns about that? The barrel is torqued to 100 ft lbs and the no-go closes but it is hard. We headspace off the shoulder and bump it back .002 after first firing

    Once the bolt stops against the gauge, dont continue to try and close the bolt all the way, its hard on things. Your chamber is shorter than the gauge, so you're good.
    Got it. Yeah makes perfect sense to me. I just wanted to touch base with the hide. My thoughts were it was good because it did close hard and it's a belted magnum that I will headspace off shoulder so belt doesn't matter later. Thank you
