Hey guys looking for a load for my 300 win mag. I am using what I have been able to get my hands on the last few months. Here is what I have

Once fired winchester brass will be FL resizing
Hodgdon H4350 powder
CCI LR Mag primers or Rem 9 1/2 LR Mag Primers
Sierra 180 Gr. Gameking bullets

I also have some IMR 4830 but only a couple pounds. I have a full 8 lbs of 4350 so I would like to find a load using it. Any other bullet reccomendations welcome as I only have 200 of the gamekings would be open to others if they are better especially over longer ranges.

I tried to search and found some data but was way over reccomended max load. I would appriciate any load data you are willing to share. Rifle will be used for target and hunting out to some longer ranges. Shooting out of a Rem 700 5R rifle. Thanks in advance for any help.

What manuals do you have already? The one Mr. H recommended is pretty handy as it compiles almost all the loads extant in the various powder, bullet and reloading equipment manufacturer's manuals in one easy to find book!

Doesn't make the indecision go away, but you have fewer excuses for not settling on a load!

Max in some books is often found to be safe in another. The Sierra manual for example, seems very conservative.

Re: 300 win mag load with 4350

The data I have looked at looks to be a max load of 67 Gr. H4350 with 180 Gr. bullet. Some loads I found go clear up to 71 Gr. My brother said he found a book showing 71.4 Max. Hornady book I have says 69.5 max.

Thanks for the link to that auction I will look into getting one of those. But that will not do me much good today. Any recommendations on where to start? Every book and hodgdons website all say something different it seems like.

I would look at using IMR4831, instead of the H4350. If you only have 200 bullets, then that's right at 2 lbs of powder, which you have. Hodgdon's website is pretty close to what you will find as your max. Sierra says 73.8 and Hodgdon says 74.0 as a max. So, that's pretty consistant data. I'd start a grain or two less than max, and work up. You'll find a good load near max, or a hair over it.

Re: 300 win mag load with 4350

My Hunting Load was 68.0 gr of H4350, 180 gr Nosler Partition, Win Brass, Win LRM primers. I could keep these pretty consistently at .5 MOA at 100-200 yds

Re: 300 win mag load with 4350

I use a 190gr SMK over 66.5gr of IMR4350 in Federal brass, can't remember the primer (notes at home). Gives me about 3040fps and .5 to.75 MOA out of my Sendero (with lawer proof trigger).

Re: 300 win mag load with 4350

Thanks guys I tested some loads mine seemed to like the 180's with 67.5 and 69.0. More testing to come to find the one she really likes. Glad to hear I am not the only one using 4350, there for a while it seemed like it might not be a good power for the 300 WM as I had a hard time finding good load data.

Re: 300 win mag load with 4350

I am in no way a veteran at this, but I actually tested some loads this weekend (1st hand loads- Rem700P-300WM)My rifle loved the H4831SC 3 out of 5 rounds of this load went through the same hole the other 2 rounds were just left of the 3 holer (all me) My load was 69.5Gr H4831SC, SMK 190, Fed. brass, Fed 215's
One of the other groups that performed very well was the H4350, very consistant, actually the 2nd best grouping of the day. I too have been looking for a good H4350 load since i managed to get my hands on some simply because it was listed and was available. My best group with the H4350 was 64Gr, Fed Brass, SMK 190's and the 215's (can't remember the MOA, but it was good) (corrected from earlier post of 74 grains, fat fingers,)

Good luck
