This is why I picked 338 Lapua Magnum as "the" long-reach caliber to go to. DTA provided a perfect platform that supported multiple calibers including 338LM.
Choosing the "main" stick for me was easy: SRS with both 308 for daily practice and 338LM as the best long-reach compromise.
In this thread I was trying to figure whether 300WM would add anything useful to my existing setup - I already have 338 and am not going to get rid of it or replace it with something else (same for 308).
It appears that 300WM would be cheaper to practice with than 338LM - but unless I can shoot at 1000+ yards there would be no training benefit over the good old 308, except for getting used to magnum recoil. But it would be a fun addition (though not very practical given the circumstances) - so I'll start saving money for a 300WM kit.
Thank you to everybody who contributed and shared his experience with these calibers!
